I am new to this whole blogging thing.
However, I have a wonderful story to sort of kick it off.
It's a fairy tale sort of story.
A completely spontaneous and delightful way to end a Thursday.
A girl gets off of work and is tired.
Sort of that in between tired.
Too tired to embark on an adventure, yet too wound up to head home.
The perfect night for an unsuspecting diner date.
Two girls alone in a small town diner.
(Not really alone of course, but they had forgotten that anyone else was around.
Both of them jumping a little each time the waitress came by).
Giggles and conversation fill the air between them.
One finishes her sandwich and watches as the other enjoys her pancakes.
Then the roles are reversed for an impromptu slice of apple pie.
(The only job of the pie being - to stall the inevitable good byes).
When they had overstayed their welcome in their cozy booth,
the two girls enjoy a warm ride home.
Stalling again, they pull off into an open parking lot for a little while longer.
Talking and forgetting the world once more, time flies by.
When it is truly time to say goodbye - long hugs are exchanged.
Along with promises to see each other again and a quick kiss from one.
They step away from each other.
With a swift thought, the girl runs to return the kiss,
before getting back into her car.
She drives off with a smile.
What a beautiful night.
What a beautiful fairy tale.
How fortunate that it is not just a tale,
but an exact recap of the cool autumn night that I just encountered.
As we said our goodbyes, we talked about our blogs.
"Mine is 'mixtape'," I said. "It makes me think of how scrambled I am.
Yet, if you put it together, you can dance to it.
"I want to dance to you everyday - for the rest of our lives," she replied.
Thank you, to my own personal Thursday night disaster. :)
